Beloved in Christ,
Greetings to you in the sweet name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
In my boyhood, I would not eat ice cream. My father compelled me to eat it several times, but I refused. Once, he told me that if I tasted it even once, I would get addicted to it. But its appearance did not tempt me. He failed to persuade me. Finally, one day, he, with the help of my brothers, forced a spoonful of it into my mouth. On tasting it, I asked for more. I had been adamant in not tasting it till then. Now I demanded it.
See how our worldly father is concerned about such trivial matters; how much more would our heavenly Father be concerned about us when we ignore His boundless love. “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Cor. 4:17).
All that appears to be difficult trials or tribulations would be for our good only. All of them would end up in our favour. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer. 29:11).
May the Lord bless us!
Bro. Nathaniel Paul.
